Sonic.exe: The Boy of Dreams

The story is centered by a boy named Maverick a child who is fascinated with Sonic the hedgehog and with his naivety wanted to meet him. Maverick's parents tell him that Sonic did not exist which disappointed Maverick. However, one day his mother got a package saying that is for Maverick, so she shouts to him upstairs as she says that there is something for him.

Maverick confused goes downstairs from his dark-navy blue bedroom and sees his mother giving him a package as the delivery man walks away to his van as he drives off. Maverick opens the package seeing a sonic pc game with a disc inside. The disc is basically standard with only the letters .exe appearing at the end of the letters of Sonic.

Maverick wanted to try this game out to see what it does which his mother agrees to. Maverick by himself walks upstairs goes to the computer room and starts up the machine. Maverick inserts the disc into the pc as he logs into the computer.

Maverick on the windows screen then sees the application of Sonic.exe which he opens it up. Maverick sees the classic Sonic start up screen which he is excited for.

However, he is not the only one who is excited as a split second the screen sees Sonic with a grim smile, bleeding eyes and darker skin. The river is now a sea of blood, and the sky darkens, but Maverick blinks before he could even see it.

Suddenly Maverick is surrounded by static no longer in front of the computer nor sitting on his chair as he drops to the floor. Maverick is surprised and starting to get scared however, the static stops and he is sitting on grass as he sees a blue sky. Maverick also sees trees and mountains patterned with various brown squares.

Maverick instantly knew where he is and could not believe it as he is standing in the middle of Green Hill Zone. Maverick astonished being and seeing the astonishing view is then interrupted by a flying fox. Maverick immediately blurts out the name of the flying fox saying Tails as he responded, 'Do I know you?'

Maverick's excitement is telling Tails that he is pleased to meet him which Tails blushes and apricates the nice comments. Tails is also intrigued wondering how he got to Green Hill Zone, but he dismisses the thought for now.

Tails says that he is going to find Sonic and wonders if the human wants to come with which Maverick graciously accepts.

Maverick and Tails walk together and in the middle of the conversation Maverick forgot to introduce himself, so he then apologises and reveals his name to Tails. They chatted amongst themselves however, soon they realise what is in front of them and it is a lot of bloody animal corpses.

Tails nor Maverick could not believe what they were seeing as fear starts to creep on the back of their minds. Maverick shocked at how anyone could do such a terrible act almost starts to tear up. Tails comforts him saying that they will find Sonic, and they will fix this.

Maverick nods as they both walk through the corpses of dead animals seeing blood splattered across the grass. Maverick tried his best to not see any of the corpses disfigured and dismembered while Tails looks on terrified what could have done this.

Maverick and Tails mercifully found no more dead bodies as they were relieved moving forward in their journey. Continuing on they finally see Sonic, but he has his back towards them, and his arms crossed displaying that he is deep in thought.

Tails shouts out to him, but Sonic did not respond which is odd. Maverick could understand why Sonic is acting this way however, Tails walks up to him.

Maverick then starts to notice blood on Sonic's chin and starts to walk around getting a better picture while Tails is just about to tap him on the shoulder. Maverick then sees blood dripping from his mouth as he instinctively runs up to Tails knowing he is in danger.

However, it is too late as Maverick tries to warn him they were both teleported to a new area that is contained a large forest fire. Tails grabs Maverick's arm as Tails starts crying demanding they have to go. Tails and Maverick both run unfortunately though Maverick is a lot slower than Tails is.

A cackle is heard as Maverick is then being chased by Sonic that is floating in the air with a menacing smile on his face. Tails looks back and shouts to Maverick to not look back which he did not and kept running while Sonic toys with him as he slowly gets faster and faster.

Tails knows he could not outrun the fastest being alive and in a heroic act decides to attack Sonic as he disappears. Tails started crying as Maverick goes up to him, but Tails tells him to run immediately. Tails then sees Sonic with black eyeballs and glowing red eyes behind Maverick about to strike the boy.

Tails out of fear dashes towards Maverick and pushes him aside as Sonic brutalises Tails as he made a deafening scream as Maverick watches on in horror.

Sonic disappears as Maverick catches Tails' body as it is covered in blood with guts spilling out his chest. Maverick cries asking why his hero would do this to his friend. Maverick screams mourning the loss of Tails, but then suddenly he is then impaled by a hand grabbing Maverick's heart out.

The hand teleports and in front of Maverick he sees Sonic with blood on his hands, black eyeballs, a meaning grin with razor sharp mouldy teeth and piercing red eyes that looks upon Maverick's soul.

Maverick spits blood out, but in his final moments looks upon Sonic with pure hatred in his eyes no longer showing fear nor compassion as he curses the hedgehog muttering what words he has left.

Sonic says Maverick's names and stating that he is God but before Maverick died Sonic reveals his name as X as Maverick did not move an inch as he kneels there motionless while still holding the body of Tails.

X makes a cackle adding two more souls to his collection and starts transforming Maverick to enslave him as his puppet however, it all goes wrong. Maverick explodes to X's surprised, but he soon sees a figure towering X in height. The figure raspy breathes as the body is coated with black, dense muscles not spilling an inch of blood.

The figure has a black skull with piercing white glow from his eye sockets resembling eyes. The figure's fingers are sharped as well as his feet as all the clothes are ripped revealing his body entirely. The figure is not a male nor a female just a body made out of dense flesh and nothing else.

X grins seeing the figure however, suddenly he punches X as he is staggering back. X laughs and starts to attack, but as he did it made no effect. The figure grabs his leg and rips it off as X use his static to gain some distance with his enemy.

X's enemy just slowly walks up to him hearing thud, after thud, after thud. X notices however, that his enemy is actions are more robotic than acting out on emotion. X continues to attack his enemy using illusions and warping reality to kill his enemy however, no effect.

X starts to get frustrated trying everything at his disposal, but his opponent could not drown, boiled, pierced, or emotionally cripple as the figure kept on walking while breathing harshly.

X annoyed gives up as he is about to hunt down his next victim however, he spits out black slime as his body becomes unstable. X looks back realising that his enemy outstretched his hand.

X tries to escape, but he keeps spitting out black slime as the figure got closer and closer. X wonders why he cannot escape and that is when his enemy spoke. The figure slowly says that ever since X transformed him, he has unintentionally shown him how he turns creatures into demons.

The figure picks up X continuing that once he transformed him, he showed him how to enslave creatures to his will or to erase their existence using the power of darkness. Although he does note that the figure does not even have a fraction of X's powers it is still enough to kill him.

X cackles saying that he cannot be killed no matter what he does and mocks the figure when he was Maverick. The figure bluntly said himself in the third person robotically saying that he worshiped him, believed in him, and dreamed of him fighting together against evil.

The figure also mentions ever since his transformation he could not feel love nor hate or any emotion, but his former self wanted to kill X and he will fulfil his final wish. X cackles saying that if he does somehow manage to kill him which he doubts there are countless more versions of him and asks the figure how he would stop them.

The figure says he should not have said that because he would have stopped right there and then if he kept his mouth shut. X cackles laughs manically demanding to show how his enemy would kill him.

The figure monologued that when he saw X transform beings into demons, he can also erase them using the darkness. That power is also given to anyone that he has corrupted and taken control of however, not for the figure formerly known as Maverick.

X then realises what the figure is saying and tries to escape but spits out more black slime. X's enemy then use both hands to grab on his head squeezing it as X's body starts to destabilise. X's body slowly starts to turn into black particles while screams of anguish and static are heard.

X desperately tries to scare the figure, but his enemy is unphased looking at the abyss as the abyss stares back however, this time the abyss blinks. The figure turns X body in a thick black slime only then to be dispersed in the air.

The figure terminated X and walks on the fiery forest with only one mission his former self has declared kill X all of them. The figure even after killing X felt no emotion, no pleasure, no joy just that he did his job and nothing else.

Back at home Maverick's parents are trying to find him and got the police involved trying to find out what happened to Maverick. The police inform them that Maverick is gone, and they do not know why or how it happened as the only evidence they have is the disk with Sonic.exe.

The police apologise to the family, but once the family left the premises devastated the police discuss that X is now abducting children into his game. They want to know who gave Maverick that game and arrest him on sight since they do not know where Maverick is even now.
