The Dream That Woke Me Up

Back when I was in 7th grade, I had the worst dream imaginable. I still have no idea what the dream means and it's been a few years, now I'm a freshman in high school. I've been going around the internet posting it and also asking friends what they think it means but no one has been able to help me. No website, no friend, no one. I've been thinking about seeing a doctor about it because it was so unnerving and just damn scary.

When the dream started I was in the basement at my Grandmother's house. It was very dark, most likely what my brain interpreted as 2 in the morning, and there was a small table in front of me with about a dozen candles on it all lit up. The table was in a small pool of water and in that water was something even stranger... It was a little girl, and she was possessed. I knew she was possessed because I was performing an exorcism on her.

I was holding this cross and moving it over the candles chanting something I couldn't understand. My dad seemed to think that it was Latin when I asked him what it was later. Every time the cross went over the candles they lit up blue, and eventually they all lit up blue and went super high, high enough to touch the ceiling. As that happened there was this loud scream that came from the girl in the pool and I fell over. After that I ran up the steps as fast as possible.

Then my Grandmother and I were in the living room talking about something, it was again very dark and there were no lights on in the room, the T.V. was the only thing lighting the room. This seemed normal to me at the time because we did this often, talking in the middle of the night that is. But the only thing I can remember her saying is, "Yep, I can still feel her at the foot of the bed." This was the only dialog throughout the whole dream.

Then I noticed there was a cage attached to the ceiling by where the front door is. The cage was very small, about the size of a birdcage. Inside it was what I'm pretty sure was the little girl I just exorcised. She was dead. After that moment of realization, I woke up. I was so scared I was paralyzed. I couldn't even move to turn on the light. I felt as if I was being watched and if I moved something awful would happen. I laid there for about 5 minutes before I moved as quickly as possible to turn the light on. I looked around and made sure everything was ok, then I paced around the house.

When I checked the time it was about 5:30 and in half an hour I was supposed to be getting up and ready for school. Still, I paced the house. I was scared out of my mind so I had to do something, I couldn't just sit there and wait for morning to come. After about six minutes of pacing the house in a scared scurry, I laid back in my bed, but I did not dare turn the light off. The dream was so short yet so damn unnerving and scary. I just laid there until my dad came in telling me it was time to get up. I told him what had happened, I forget what his reply was though. After about two months, my stuff got moved into my brother's room and his into mine. I couldn't sleep in that room any longer.

After two years I still don't know what this means and the dream still haunts me, if anyone could help me out and tell me what they think it means that'd be awesome because I think after I know it might haunt me a little less.
