Abandoned by SEGA
Hey. I'm Erick. I'm going to tell you all about the most traumatic event I've experienced in my life.
So, one day, my friend told me about an abandoned SEGA theme park called "Sonic World" that got shut down in 2000. It peaked my curiosity, so I asked him where it was located. He said that it was in Irvine, California. So, I got in my car and drove to California. It took me a lot of days, but I finally made it to Irvine. After a couple hours, I found Sonic World. I got out my flashlight and camera and went inside. When I went in, the whole placed was ruined. It was all covered in vines and everything looked broken. One of the first things I saw was a large statue of Sonic the Hedgehog doing his iconic pose. Then, I was faced with a choice. Inside this theme park were 3 different sections: Rides, The Mall, and Shows. I decided to go to the Shows section first.
This section had several VHS Tapes, each holding an episode of either Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog or the SATAM Sonic Show. In the middle of the room was a large TV where you would insert a VHS Tape and it would play an episode of one of the two shows. After watching a couple of AOSTH Episodes, I went to the Rides section. This section, obviously, had different rides based on different Sonic the Hedgehog Levels. All the rides were, of course, disfunctional, so I moved on the the third section: The Mall.
This is where things got creepy.
When I entered the Mall, I glanced at what I thought were a pair of eyes and teeth. They quickly disappeared. That was strange, but at that point, I must've just been seeing things. I continued moving deeper into the Sonic World Mall. As a continued traversing the Mall, I continued seeing those weird eyes and teeth, but I just ignored it all. But then, while I was walking, I stepped on something squishy and slipped. When I turned to see what I stepped on, I was horrified. Right there, on the floor, was a human intestine. I was shocked. I got up and slowly back away from the intestine. Then, I turn around, and see a bunch of human eyes and teeth glaring at me. As I slowly take a picture, I feel a hand get placed on my shoulder. Then, I hear a whisper in my ear:
" R u N . "
I quickly turned around and saw a horrifically decayed Sonic the Hedgehog costume with its guts hanging out of a large slash in its chest. I screamed and then started running away from it. The thing started to chase me, and it was slowly gaining up on me. As it was about to catch me, I suddenly got an idea. I pulled out my camera and took a picture of the Sonic costume. The flash of the camera blinded the Mascot and gave me enough time to get out of the Mall and escape Sonic World.
After I got out of that god-forsaken place, I showed my friend all the pictures I took of the place, including the picture of the eyes and teeth, and the picture of the Sonic costume. When he asked me why I went to that placed, I simply responded with this:
"I don't know why I went there, but let's just say that I saw things that I cannot unsee."
