Another Herobrine Story

Well, I'll let you make of this what you may. I can't tell you it's true without sounding like one of many, many of the same Creepypastas out there, with monsters in the game ready to jump out at you. You'd probably still be skeptical at best, as I usually am. I'm skeptical right now, in fact, as I'm only going by the word of my friend and I have a track record for being quite gullible, but if this is real...

Well, I should start where all good stories start; at the beginning.

It was all fine until twenty minutes ago, maybe more. You know how time can feel so warped and become longer or shorter with all the different emotions and such that your body pumps through you. But, that's really not important, and I'm wasting time writing this that I could be using to write down the details before they slip my mind.

Randomly, my friend (who I call Assce, the screen name he has on another chat we talk on) asked "why there was a Steve." Right then and there, I think a part of me was just shocked to life. I had heard of Herobrine before, and I had even done a bit of "research" on him, but like so many people would be I was very skeptical.

I won't lie, I've always accepted the possibility of anything because a lot of things haven't really been without a doubt, completely, 100% proven nonexistent, and even if it was, it could've been wrong just like humans have been in the past. But moving on from that, this surprised me because we were the only ones on the server (yes, I know, that sounds like such a cliché but believe me it's a small server, with only a few of my friends going on at any given time and since it was a bit past midnight in EST time, it could be expected not many people were going to be thinking about Minecraft.)

My first reaction was to ask him if his eyes were white. And I began to worry a bit (yes, only a bit, because it's still a game and in most stories Herobrine doesn't actually hurt anyone in real life, even though in theory he probably could,) when he said yes, and told Assce to screenie it as he told me it was chasing him. Apparently, it disappeared. Assce assumed it fell down a hole or something, but since Herobrine had been known to disappear and reappear without warning, it was a likely possibility he had just disappeared at his own will. Thinking back on it, could it have been because I told Assce to screenie? Herobrine obviously seems to like to avoid being seen.

I then asked him if he was familiar with Herobrine. Again, a typical cliché --- he had no idea who he was, and I had to teach him of this mysterious man. I gave him a link to the original story, and Assce began to freak out. He told me to teleport to Tundra, where he was. I did, and then there was a period of me wandering around the Tundra whining at Assce because I couldn't find him, so he told me to reteleport to the Tundra and he would do the same.

So I did, and we greeted each other with casual hellos (I have the tendency to say hello to anyone when I see their avatar, even if we've been talking for the past few hours without stop,) and we went off to search various holes to find him. Eventually, Assce showed me the tunnel he found Herobrine in, and I swear entering the place that the hole we had to go through to get to the main part of the tunnel glowed with a ghostly sort of way, although that may have just been me panicking about Herobrine, since by now I was quite a bit freaked out by it all. But, who wouldn't be if they had what was apparently a ghost haunting the server they go on regularly?

We went down there and explored for a while, and after several moments trecking through lava and such, we reached a small 'room'-like place. I assumed Assce had been mining there before he saw Herobrine. We went in and I swear, I saw Herobrine for a second, and Assce said the same, but I think it was a strong possibility we had just walked into each other for a minute and had simply seen each other in a weird way, since thinking about it now I think 'it' had pupils.

We continued mining for a while, waiting to see if Herobrine would show up, me placing torches a few blocks closer to each other than I normally would out of paranoia. Luckily, no such appearances were made, and Assce just left a few minutes ago, right before I came here and made a page on this. I figured that this would be an 'appropriate' place, even though this isn't necessarily for real stories or experiences or whatever, I didn't exactly know where I would go with this (and I don't really want to go to some paranormal ghost story website thing because the people there tend to come off as a little crazy sometimes.)

I've now got the light on in my room, and I'm still a little jumpy, looking over my shoulder every now and again. I'm not gonna rule out the idea that somehow some guy hacked the server and was screwing with us or something (if that's even a thing that's possible to do) or more likely, the server owner could've installed one of the Herobrine mods out there since he was on yesterday and seemed to be doing something even though I can't really say I know what.

I'll ask him about it next time I see him, and I'll update this if something else happens. Right now, I'm a bit scared of being alone on the server, so I might just even wait until I'm less shaken up or someone goes on the server to really go anywhere on Minecraft. Anyway, that's all, I suppose. Wish me luck with this whole thing or something, 'cause I'm pretty weirded out by it all and don't really know what to do. I just hope I 'survive' this whole thing or whatever we're supposed to do.

I wonder why Herobrine always seems to choose small servers, or single player maps.

An Update

So, the owner came on earlier, and I talked to him about what happened. He doesn't seem to know why it happened, so I can presume he didn't install the Herobrine mod in the server or something, so that rules out that possibility unless he's just sitting behind his computer laughing at us because we don't know that's exactly what he did.

But anyway, I was looking around and for reasons I don't quite remember, found myself warping to the jungle eventually. Gathered some Cocoa Beans from the trees and stuff, but eventually I came across a building. It was made of Cobblestone, and definitely manmade, but had nothing in it at all. When I went in, I'm gonna be honest, I was really expecting Herobrine. But again, empty, so that was unfortunate (or very fortunate, depending on how you want to see it) and since it was dark I dug a hole next to it, covered it over and waited it out. After a few minutes, I went back up during the day and ran off in some random direction. This is the most interesting part.

Eventually, I found myself at the Plains biome. That's what it looked like, anyway. But the grass was very green, more green than the usual Plains biome - a green very close to the Jungle floor green. But it didn't look like anyone had just chopped down a bunch of Jungle trees to clear it all or anything. At the time, honestly, I didn't think much of it and I'm not really sure if it was really even anything now.

After wandering around in this very green Plains biome, I saw a Mooshroom. I got pretty excited, thinking it meant there was a Mushroom biome nearby.

No such luck. No Mushroom biomes appeared to even be close to it. But what was close to it was a dungeon of sorts. It was an oddly shaped building, and definitely manmade. Almost like a castle of sorts, with a 'tower'-like thing on the roof (which I later found had a ladder inside that was used to climb up and look around or whatever,) and like the building in the Jungle it was made of Cobblestone.

I'm not really rejecting the idea that it was made by some other player at all here, but after the experience earlier I can't be sure on what was made by who now. So I walked in (without turning on my Minecraft recording stuff, what a stupid thing to do) and looked around. There were several different rooms, most of which with Chests and Crafting Tables. Many ladders were in the dungeon there you pretty much had to climb down to get anywhere. Eventually, I came across a sign next to a door that just led a circle around the giant room-like area which essentially just contained many smaller rooms. The sign read...

"3 levels

slithers"

It might have said that in reverse order, but my memory isn't photographic or anything so I can't really remember, and it's not important anyway. In the middle of this room, like most other rooms, there was a hole in the middle of the floor with a ladder. This one, unlike several others, had a trapdoor over it. I opened it up and went inside, and there was a Monster Spawner. Skeleton one I presume, since I didn't get a good look at it being that there was a Skeleton with a crossbow pointed at me and I was low on health, and wasn't going to regenerate because of how low my hunger meter was, so fighting wasn't really any sort of option.

I climbed up, but went down again a few minutes later, getting shot by the Skeleton I climbed away from. I died, and since I just kind of ran in a random direction to get to that biome and the dungeon, I wasn't getting any of my stuff back and I likely won't find that building again even though I'm probably going to try later. If I do find it again, I'll probably record it this time.

For now, that's pretty much it. Will probably update again later if something else mysterious happens.

Another update.

Well. I should say now, we were essentially forced to abandon the server since it kept glitching up. We couldn't pick up items and I know at some point that would've devestated any hopes for a good last mission to find Herobrine. A few mysterious things I noticed before I left, though...

One, a staircase in a jungle. I didn't go down it when I found it because I knew I'd die, not having any supplies or anything and not wanting to lose the stuff I got. When I came back later (and I must've spent a good, long hour thoroughly searching around where it was) it was just gone, cliche as it may sound.

While cleaing land, I turned around and saw a Redstone Torch on land I had just cleared. We had found several Redstone Torch-filled caves before, so I was a bit weirded out by it, since no players were nearby at the time and I couldn't have somehow accidentally placed one since I had the same amount of Redstone Torches that I did before while it was placed there.

It was about a day or so after the Redstone Torch that the server pretty much broke. We've all updated from the version the server is on by now... Some day, I do still hope to return to the server, and track Herobrine down once and for all... If I do, maybe I'll share more of my story. For now, I have to say this is all at end.

No more madness for me. For now...
