CIV1.EXE

I al ways leik old game, like in a old MS-DOS oporationg sistem. I use to liked programming with a for Assembly, and writing dumb programs on is. Researching old stuff liked his me my favorite pastime. That is until a few months ago that scarred me for life.

I for sit down one my chair, workeiong in an other projekt, when out of no where I get bored and thought what would happen if I somehow run Civ2 under an MS-DOS environment. Usually, with Windows games, the program detects whether you are running on DOS or not, and prevent it from running, little did I know its true purpose. I figured that I could just use DEBUG and skip that part. After a long day spent on this, I finally got around that check, and saved the updated code to a file named CIV2_BYPASS.EXE.

I ran the program, and to my surprise, the system didn't halt or freeze. I run it again, because once again I was bored, and nothing happened. So I decided to run DEBUG. I made a mistake. A hype-realistic image of Squidward's dead body appeared on my screen, an image that scared me not only because I was terrified but also the system **could not handle such high resolutionItalic text**, the image looked so real that I almost thought that Squidward's body was coming out of my computer screen, and then the screen showed an ominous text saying: "LOOK BEHIND YOU", with a background that feels as if somebody or something was hiding in the background, obscured by the darkness. Then, an extremely loud hyper-realistic scream of a child played on my PC speaker and then my computer mysteriously shut down.

Maybe it was wrong of me, but I wondered how they managed to have such good audio playback on a PC Speaker.

My computer turned back on, displaying the TOSHIBA booting prompt, and I was launched back into MS-DOS, but the background was replaced with a realistic blood texture instead of the normal black background. Though I was hesitant, I still continued my work as pretty much everything was back to normal, but something that bothered me was that when you are running a program that uses a TUI interface, or anything terminal wise, the number 666 would randomly appear on the screen, with the bloody background with it, making the games I play sometimes much difficult since I would have to go back to the menu to reset the screen.

A problem with old MS-DOS is there is no way to print the file to the screen. So after a few days, I have finished my project. Before I could save, my system exited out of the text editor, with the only directory I could use or navigate to was CIV1.

Well, i was a bit mad I lost 2 days worth of progress, but it was made up for the fact that I could just play CIV1.EXE.

Cahpter 2

I launched CIV1.EXE, the intro played, but something was off about it. The music was different, and it was slow, and distorted. The game dropped me into a menu screen. It displayed a hyper-realistic image of Patrick, and it kind of scared me, but I was used to the hyperrealistic shit, so I pressed on.

There was only one civilization: PATRIXX with the leader named EVILPATRIXXX. The game had the same 16 bit graphics I remembered playing, but something was unsettling about it. I decided to aim my settlers to a random mountain, and built my city. A message that I never remembered seeing popped up saying: "Tip: I AM GOD OF THIS UNIVERSE", luckily it was just a game.

I played for awhile, nothing was too strange other than the fact that there were no other civilization than just me. Finally, I was given a research prompt, which was my favorite part of the game. Instead of the normal research, each of them displayed: "YOU ARE GOING TO DIE", and I selected the first one. That was weird.

My second favorite part of Civ1 is growing my civilization, but as soon as my population reached 2, the population decreased back to 1. I thought that was odd. It was just a boring game, but then the sea mysteriously turned blood red, and everything became demonic suddenly. Then my government was forced into anarchy without my consent, then suddenly I saw a settler unit approaching my city, and then I was launched into the default meeting seen into Civ1, however, instead of a normal background, it was a terrifying hyperealistic image of Spongebob holding a shotgun towards my face. I was scared. Then the leader SPONGIXXX asked me a question:

"What do you value more?

Your sanity

Your life?"

With a distorted hyperrealstic spongebob laugh "Bahahahahahaha"

and before I could answer, my screen turned black and I was back into the game. It was all normally suddenly.

Then I heard a door open in my room, I knew something got into my room, but I had to continue. I continued growing my civilization until randomly, Mr Krabs showed up as a leader and wanted to arrange a meeting. I agreed.

Even more disturbingly, it showed Mr. Krabs's body cut open, and prompted me:

"Billy bob, listen. You must stop them before it is too late. They want to kill us."

And then he left.

Then I saw a hyperrealistic image of Ghandi and my game crashed.

I was beyond mad, I lost my progress but I had no choice but to restart. Instead of the normal intro, I was greeting to Spongebob holding a shottie pointed at me, saying:

"Bahahaha, what do you value more?

YOUR LIFE OR YOUR SANITY?"

I couldn't pick any option, and spongebob started making many creepy laughs as he progressively got more hyperrealistic before firing at my computer screen in the game and my computer shut off. The sound was so realistic that I could hear the movement of the weapon. I tried going back on, and I was launched back into the game exactly where I left off. Then I was given an advisor screen, almost like Civ2 but with the MS-DOS style of Civ1, but the screen quickly disapared. Then, I got a new unit:

Skeleton Ghandi, a terrifying haunting hyperrealistic unit, I diployed it onto the city. Then suddenly I was given another prompt:

"I am god"

And I looked behind me.

Spongebob Squarepants stripped my hands behind my back and threw me on the ground. He held a shawned off shotgun at my face, and I was terrified. He said: "Give me your seqrets", bahahahaha

My hands were tied. I looked up, and he was holding the shotgun upwards, like a gangster. He started speaking:

"What do you value more, your life or your sanity?"

I was on the ground, no way to get up, and I was scared. I said my life, and he said:

"Bahahahahha, I will kill you brutually"

Then I quickly managed to break the tied up hands and grabbed spongebob's shawened off shottie, and aimed it at spongebob and fired, he let out a horrifying screem. I was terrified, and he said: "Evil Patrixx will deal with you", I ran out of my house, lit it on fire, took my cat, and ran the hell out of there. Now I am writting in a hotel, still having nightmares to this day.
