The Balloon Man

Still now, I enjoy playing some of my old games on my Playstation One, but one scarred me for life. It was a rainy day and I was bored, it was the last day of the holidays and I only had a few hours 'till I had to go to bed. As I browsed through my game collection, I noticed a game that I hadn't played before. It was called: "The Balloon Man". I was eager to play it so I booted up my PS1; inserted the game, and began to play. It was a simple game in which you had to press X as fast as you could to keep the man in the air. There where several balloons tied to the man's hand and a pin in the other. He was smiling, like he was enjoying himself, but the more you tire, the more balloons he pops. As I continued playing, the game got progressevely harder, and the man become more concerned. I decided to stop pressing altogether to see what would happen. The man let out a loud, disturbing scream as he fell to the ground. I wondered why this happened, one of the reasons obviosly because he was falling, but why was he screaming like THAT? He never did that when I failed a level, because I was still pressing, perhaps? There was a sickening crunch as the man hit the ground, and a message appeared saying: " The man has died, so you will too! Oh GOOD SHOW." Cliche. I thought. The game moved on to another level which was named: "Level: Samuel Davis" I fell back on my chair as I read this. How did it know my name? I was about to close the game but the system would not allow it. The level started as "I" fell, filling the room with a blood-curdling, high pitched sream like my own. The game then showed a picture of the man that fell. It was a picture with the mans legs in a bloody mush, with his head hanging off his neck by a string. But the most disturbing, was his face. He had a develish smile with blank, fish like eyes.

This stopped me playing PS1 games altogether for a couple of months, my experience gave me nightmares, and a few days later, it was announced that a man had commited suicide. The body had been found with the legs missing, and his head severed from his neck.
